Every year, the week of September 11 comes and goes in a flurry. My birthday is the 8th, and our anniversary is the 11th. Due to the fact that the school routine is just starting again, we usually have a week with random moments of celebration as we can fit them in. I had lovely dinners with my husband and with dear friends, flowers delivered by surprise from a close friend, and a birthday cake decorated solely by my daughter.
It was also the first time I was able to get out of the house and move around comfortably since breaking my ankle. Having a nice lunch in the Palisades with ocean views is truly the best way I can think of to celebrate. The week always goes by so fast, I take photos of these special little moments to remember and look back at later. The week ended up being exactly what makes me happiest – time doing what I love and time spent celebrating with the people I love. Which, in the end, are who make everything in life worthwhile! 🙂
Flowers from a dear friend. It was lovely to answer the door and receive these.
Not exactly professional, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Homemade chocolate cake and decorated by my daughter.
Nothing I love to do more than spread out ALL over the living room floor with yarn and sketching materials and dream up a new design! 🙂
Gladstones has excellent food and atmosphere, and lovely views of the Pacific Palisades coastline. We don’t eat here often, but it’s a special treat when we do!
For me, it’s a tossup between sushi and ceviche. My two favorites, in addition to calamari, as evidenced by the empty plate in the background.
You really can’t have a more beautiful view while enjoying your plate of seafood. The ocean is my favorite perk of living in Los Angeles.
