Knit and Crochet Designer
I am a lifelong creative person who loves to make beautiful things and be original. I was always drawing and painting from a very young age, went to college for graphic design, but found my true calling when I learned to knit and crochet.
I have had the privilege of working in many areas of the fiber industry. I started by working for five years in my favorite little yarn shop in Burbank, then moved into designing. As a designer I self-publish patterns on Ravelry and have also worked with a number of yarn companies, as well as produced designs for the Los Angeles Yarn Crawl. I served on the board of my local knitting guild right before moving from Los Angeles to Tennessee.
Now in Tennessee, I split my time between being a designer and running a small farm with wool sheep and other farm animals. I still draw and paint, mostly in my design sketchbook, am working on getting my black belt in martial arts, and run the occasional charity 5k. Naturally, now that I have my own little flock of wool producers, I am learning to process, spin and dye the wool, thus adding another facet to my experience in the industry.
